HATZIIOANNOU ESTATE
The Muscat of Samos variety, which is the crown jewel of the Estate’s work, has been fully harmonized with Samos’s soil and climate system for at least 25 centuries.
The area’s unique microclimate and the barren soils, mainly composed of two different types of texture.

• volcanic granitic schist with pH < 7
• and calcareous clay with pH > 7
they impart lemony acidity and mineral elements to the wines, making the Muscat elegant and unique.
The other grape varieties cultivated on the island develop a similar expression and are equally impressive.
Our Philosophy
Minimal Intervention, High Standards
At Hatziioannou Estate, we follow the philosophy of minimal intervention in viticulture and winemaking, while maintaining the highest quality standards through expertise and technology. All our wines are produced exclusively from the estate’s own dry-farmed vineyards, covering 53 + 7 stremmata, with vines aged between 25 and over 80 years, located at altitudes ranging from 300 to 1000 meters.

These unique organic vineyards, located in renowned terroirs, combined with the expertise and experience in winemaking of fifth and sixth generation vinegrowers and winemakers, ensure that our wines express the purest representation of the Samos soil and climate system and the historic Muscat of Samos variety, while simultaneously embodying consistent quality. Each wine is produced in small batches with meticulous attention to detail.
